LNG Dual-Fuel 7000TEU Container vessel "ZIM PEARL" was delivered and left the shipyard

At noon on 1st March, ZIM PEARL, the fifth LNG dual-fuel 7,000TEU container vessel built by our group New Yangzi Shipbuilding for the shipowners SEASPAN and ZIM, left the shipyard and was delivered and put into operation by ZIM to start its maiden voyage.

 

The vessel was successfully built and completed with the full cooperation and mutual achievements of SEASPAN, ZIM shipowner project supervision team, DNV on-site surveyor, and the shipyard. The construction quality and technology of this series of vessels have been continuously improved, and the construction period of this vessel has been shortened by 2.5 months compared with the first vessel, which has reached the standard of the same type of single-fuel vessel in the industry.

 

On 21st February, our group held a grand naming ceremony for the new vessel together with SEASPAN and ZIM. The naming ceremony was attended by Ms. Wu Yingxian, Chairman/President and CEO of SEASPAN, Mr. Chen Bing, Chief Commercial Officer of SEASPAN, Mr. Li Koon, President and CEO of ZIM, Mr. Eli Glickman, Executive Vice President and COO of ZIM, Mr. David Arbel, Senior Vice President and Chairman of Greater China of DNV and Senior Vice President and Chairman of Greater China of DNV, Mr. Norbert Kray, as well as Mr. Ren Letian, Chairman of our Group, Mr. Du Chengzhong, Vice General Manager of our Group and General Manager of New Yangzi Shipbuilding, Mr. Zhou Kewei, Vice General Manager of our Group, Mr. Ji Hongfei, Vice General Manager of our Group and other leaders and guests attended the naming ceremony.

 

Ms. Wu Yingxian named the new vessel "ZIM PEARL", cut the cable and threw a champagne salute for the new vessel, wishing the new vessel and the crew a safe voyage, and bringing honor and prosperity to the ship owner and charterer.


 

On 29th February, under the joint witness of representatives of all parties, Mr. Su Xiaohua, Project Manager of Asset Management Department of SEASPAN, and Mr. Du Chengzhong, Vice General Manager of our group and General Manager of New Yangzi Shipbuilding, signed the delivery documents of ZIM PEARL on behalf of both parties respectively.
